Donation Policy

Donations are coordinated directly through the Foundation. There is no automated online payment processor on this site. To make a monetary contribution, in-kind donation of supplies, corporate gift, church donation, or grant contribution, please contact the Foundation for instructions appropriate to your country and the type of contribution.

Donors will receive written acknowledgment from the Foundation where applicable. Acknowledgments describe the contribution but do not constitute tax or legal advice.

Stichting Rijakannah is registered in Suriname and is not separately incorporated or registered as a nonprofit entity in the United States. Donations from U.S. donors are not tax-deductible under U.S. federal law. Please consult your own tax advisor about deductibility in your jurisdiction.

Donations are used to advance the Foundation’s humanitarian mission in Suriname, including the acquisition, packing, and shipment of supplies; program coordination; and modest administrative costs required to operate the Foundation. Where a donor designates a specific purpose in writing, we will use best efforts to honor that designation or contact the donor if it cannot be fulfilled.

Because donations are coordinated directly and generally applied to program activity soon after receipt, refunds are made only in the case of a demonstrated error, and must be requested in writing within 30 days of the contribution.

Financial and project updates — including budgets, donations received by period, project expenses, shipping documentation, and periodic reports — will be published on our Financial Records page as verified records become available.
