How we photograph, film, and publish images of the people and communities involved in our work.

Our commitment
Stichting Rijakannah does not publish photographs or video of identifiable individuals — including children, elders, community members, volunteers, staff, or partners — without documented consent that records the date, location, and the person’s permission.
Consent process
- Consent is explained in a language the person understands, in plain terms.
- Where a person is a minor, consent is obtained from a parent or legal guardian.
- Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time by contacting the Foundation.
- Consent covers a specified use (for example, the Foundation website, printed reports, or social media) and does not transfer to third parties without further permission.
Dignity and respect
We do not publish images that could shame, exploit, or misrepresent the people we serve. Captions are accurate and do not embellish, generalize by ethnicity, or exaggerate need.
Illustrative or stock imagery
Where an illustrative or AI-generated image is used to represent an idea, it is labeled clearly so that it is not mistaken for documentation of a completed Foundation project.
Requests to remove an image
To request that an image of you (or a child in your care) be removed from any Foundation channel, email info@rijakannah.org and we will act as promptly as reasonably possible.
